Dr. Younker was my professor at the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Houston. He taught me in two separate classes: “Entrepreneurial Leadership, Team Building & Decision Making” and “Business Planning & Implementation.” Both classes were instrumental in building our foundation as Entrepreneurship students at the Wolff Center. The first course centered on the leadership, management, and teamwork aspect of Entrepreneurship. We spent time learning about the E.I., or Emotional Intelligence, aspect of what it takes to be a strong leader, entrepreneur, and team member. I would never have grasped the level of importance of team chemistry and self-awareness that it takes for one to be successful in Entrepreneurship without Dr. Y’s guidance. The second course was on the development and implementation of business plans. Dr. Y introduced our class to the “One Page Business Plan” concept. It became instrumental in helping my classmates and I define our business ideas clearly before embarking down the road towards writing a full business plan.
